a big wedding in a little village

la magnanerie de seillans

We have been invited to a wedding of a Japanese-English couple here in South of France over the weekend.
It was lovely to see how their relationship grew and led to mariage.  On that very special day, we were as happy as everyone else there to witness such a lovely ceremony.

They'd already had the actual wedding at the local mayor office the day before amongst the close family and friends. The ceremony and the reception were held at the magnificent banquet hall / gallery in a little village called Seillans. It's only 40 mins drive away from Cannes. The building had mixture of old and modern ambience and there're a few rooms so you can stay.
The night before the ceremony, we've been asked to arrive a few hours early to help them.
When we arrived there, they were preparing loads of flowers on the tables - the bride was also working to put beautifl flowers into the vase, as she used to do at her work.

The ceremony was taken place at a torii object (a red gate usually seeing at a japanese temples) made by the groom and his artist father prior to this day, followed by the cocktail party and the dinner with live band(I've been told that the singer of the band, the Potishead was playing the drum). After quick and warm speech by both fathers, the party started.
I only know the couple for a short time, but this wedding made me feel like I was watching a short film about their lives. So lovely and touching to see the couple and family, friends having their great moment together.

Wishing this lovely couple a great future!
